Parcel Kiosk

Parcel Rate is a software counter-part to a hardware product that quickly scans the dimensions & weight of parcels and churns out the cheapest carriers based on the information provided. I worked with the owner of Parcel Rate to ensure that the software and user experience side of things was as elegant as the hardware was, since the hardware had to be used synergistically with the software.

Dashboard

I designed the dashboard in a way that makes it easy for users to view their shipping analytics at a glance by using grid sections which each contain unique and useful data points. From here, users have the ability to further interrogate and download data.

Shipments

The My Shipments page displays all active and past shipments that took place on the users account. They can sift through the data in various different ways, such as searching, ordering and filtering by date. Since the data-sets have the potential to be large, they are paginated to prevent slow loading speeds. Each row of data has multiple actions associated with it which can be accessed through the more icon button to the right of each item. The user can also create shipments based on items in this list, using the New Shipment button that appears when hovering over a list item.

Address Book

For those who are purely browsing the website, I wanted to incite the urge to explore. For this, I create destination cards which can be seen below. They use bold imagery to entice the user to explore various different destinations available to them.

Create Shipment

Below is the Create Shipment flow. It begins with selecting your recipient, followed by using the hardware to scan the parcel that is being sent. This will then transmit the weight and dimensions of the parcel into the software where the carrier can be selected and the process can be completed. When adding the parcel, the user can decided to enter parcel weight and dimensions manually, including saving it as a preset so that the same dimensions and weight can be added instantly without the need for using the hardware or entering the details every time.

For this process, I used an animated sidebar system. This is so that at all times the user does not get lost and is always aware of where they are in the process, since they can see the page beneath the overlay.
